OMG! CHRISTMAS!

I don't mean to frighten you, but, um....Christmas! It's less than a month away, and if you haven't started your shopping (like me!!!!! AHHHH!!!) you should!

Here is a jolly picture of the Doge Meme variety to make you feel a little better.

Now that you have gazed into those liquid eyes and are feeling much more cheer, I can talk about something I think is kind of important.  People can tend to go on about this a bit around this time of year, but I am a big fan of shopping local where possibleI figure if I spend my money with the nice guy or gal who owns the shop down the road, then not only will I get my friends and family cool gifts but that little shop owner will have a happier Christmas too. And then, maybe next year that little shop owner can go on holidays to some far flung place and do a little un-local shopping, which is what I want to do next Christmas.

Maybe (most probably) I am over romanticizing it, but I would love to have a white Christmas. I'm hoping, with all my fingers and toes crossed, that next year I will be in New York for Christmas.   A little while ago I styled a still shoot and my inspiration was Christmas in New York.  I thought I would share those pictures.

I sculpted the wire representation of New York's skyline you can see in the back ground my self. It took some time, and my hands were sore and covered in spray paint by the time I was done, but I was quite please with the result.   The sculpture has taken up residence in the disused fireplace in my lounge room.

Hope you like my pictures, tell me what you think!
What would be your favorite Christmas holiday destination?
Have a safe and fun filled silly season, and I hope Santa brings you something nice.

Summer Fun In the Summer Sun!

I recently acquired a lovely little pooch called Nacho.   A friend of mine had rescued him from the shelter but for various reasons couldn't keep him, so now I'm his new Mumma.   I had been thinking about adopting a dog for quite some time and I couldn't be happier with the little guy.   He's a five year old Chihuahua X Jack Russle and the sweetest dude you could ever meet.

My friend Kaija and I took him to the beach recently and of course - beach time photo opportunities!

It was the first opportunity I have had this summer to get into my favourite swimsuit of all time, the delightful black and white hounds tooth number I purchased last season from Fables By Barrie

To complete the monochrome beach time look I teamed it with a beautiful wide brimmed hat and striped shirt I picked up from a couple of the great boutiques here in West End.

All three of us had a great time frolicking on the beach and we really must do it again some time.

Have a great summers day!

Beach? Black and White!

I love to stand out from the crowd.   The beach is usually such a cavalcade of colour, what better way to distinguish your self than in simple, elegant, black and white?

Last year I purchased this adorable hounds-tooth swimsuit from Fabels By Barrie.

That's not me in the picture by the way, that's the model from the fables web page, but I did look at least half as gorgeous.   I must say I have never had a better pair of swimmers!   The ordering process was so easy.   Swimwear shopping has always been my most dreaded shopping experience, but since this was online, all you have to do is take your measurements! The customer service was helpful, I had so many questions, and they were all answered promptly.  And even better, you can order your top according to your cup size! No more trying to squeeze the girls into something that was designed without breasts in mind.   The quality of my swim suit was fantastic as well, and even after last seasons frantic beach time frolicking, my favorite ever swimsuit is still going strong.   That's not going to stop me from ordering another suit from Fables By Barrie this year though!

And here is a little Polyvore spread I created to celebrate the begining of summer and the joy I got from last years monochrome beach jaunts. What do you think about black and white at the beach?

Happy summer everyone!

River-Side Photographic Adventure

I recently acquired a delightful mint green and pink play-suit from a great little store in the valley called Trash Monkey.   My lovely friend Kaija and I used it as the inspiration for this shoot we did down by the river in West End.   Goodness only knows what the joggers and bike riders would have thought of us cavorting around like fools.   We had a lot of fun though, so who cares?

Styling myself for this shoot was a novel experience, I've gotten so used to doing the hair and makeup of others.   Being in front of the camera was also a novel experience, Kaija did a great job of making me feel comfortable and i think we cam away with some great shots. What do you think?
Have a great day,

A Big Ol' Bow

I have a slight obsession with hair bows. I don't know what it is, but they just make me smile. I recently styled this lovely lady, and based the whole look around a giant hair bow that I am simply in love with.

The inspiration for the look was part doll, part harajuku girl, I wanted to express these looks in a more wearable way.   Llenore was such a sport, we had a fun time and here are the pictures!

Tell me what you think, and have a lovely day!

Kaija's Make Over and a Photographic Adventure

My lovely friend Kaija and I are going on a photographic adventure today!   She is a budding photographer with a great eye.   Quite some time ago she asked me if she could take some photos of me.   I've just spent the morning going through my prop-box collecting together all my ears and tails, bows and bracers and sparkly little numbers.   I just finished doing my hair and makeup, it feels a little odd to be sitting at my computer in false eyelashes!

I'm pretty excited 'cause I love an excuse to get dressed up in fancy costumes.  I'll be sure to put up some photos we get today, but in the mean time I'll share some photos of Kaija from a make over I did for her.   I wont be sharing the before photos, but trust me she looks much nicer after!   I'd love to know what you think, and if you really like it you can get the look via my Polyvore spread (which is so fun to play with by the way, oh, follow me!!)

Have a great day!
